scruggs cues and ivory buttcaps...

im pretty sure it's ivory. if it werent ivory i dont see any reason for that black phenolic plate to be at the bottom of it as it would serve no purpose.

Hope I am wrong, you can have a look.

i was actually thinking the same thing.. but its too hard to tell from the pictures..

Ivory Cross-section cut

I work with a lot of Ivory.

I look for this cross-hatched Pattern. It forms a 90 Degree angle where they cross.
Look at the radius at the Butt cap end.. (Unless you got a plate covering the bottom of the Butt Cap)
Most Ivory will have this cross-hatched pattern in one side.
Unless you got a "Choice" Piece from near the center, where it is mostly solid White. (The hardest part, used for Joints?)

Ivory is actually more White than their Alternative counterparts.
I've compared Alternative Ivory and Elforlyn and they are more cream color than real Ivory.
Real Ivory turns more whiter when I clearcoat them with CA.
I don't know why, but, I can see the whitness.

ivory butt cap

i own a TS with ivory and he had said to me once that
he doesn't like to put ivory buttcap for his fragility
