Those would be boxed veneers and that is what I am talking about! Thanks I love that purple thing! Mine has points with that type construction and mine was a low $4,000's cue yours has work in different places but I would think it would be high today. I noticed your cue said 7 TS 1 how is that?

Okay, I've got to ask. Why are you referring to the cue as a "box point cue"? As far as I can tell it's a 4-point no veneer cue with speartips on the points. I was always under the impression that the box cues had the rectangular windows in the forearm.

Zeed, that's a great question but for another reason. This cue really has the style and look of one that was made when he and Bill purportedly had a thing going (1997-99'ish). Just at a quick glance, I would bet this cue has flat bottom inlaid points with a ring above the wrap, giving the illusion of actual square bottom 90 degree bottom points. These points have the same look as Bill's #8 and #66) inlaid points.

Would hate to ruin such a good playing cue putting it through a bandsaw to find out (just kidding of course). At least that's my thoughts....but I have been wrong before. These make for some awesome hitting cues, though. We've had a few from that era.

Well - not

9 Mike Cochrin made this blank and told me he would never do that pattern again for well over $4,000 and said he really doesn't see it happeningg again. When I met Mike he was grinding ivory for inlays and was covered in ivory dust. I was reminded more of a Szamboti butt sleve when I saw it but how do you beat work like that! And the stick is a 2000 says so on it's ivory butt cap!
And even so, Bill's cue are awesome and this pattern is very remanicant of his great work I have to agree there!
Mike has made all Timi's blanks since 1984 contrary to what any others might say or think. He is a master no doubt about it !
And one other thing that 90% sure Scruggs stick on your web site was made by Jerry Rauenzahn and now that you know it please stop trying to sell it as something it is not!!!

Come on Mike, you can't possibly tell if you like the cue or not from those tiny pics.

Nick,
I don't know about the TS/BM connection, so I cannot comment on it. I will however say after seeing 20 or so JR cues, that the work in that Scruggs on Seans site is way better than any of those 20.

Similar Scruggs

This cue is very similar to JohnPT's cue. It hits GREAT!! I know it isn't one of his top of the line cues either, but it sure is sweet!!:o :o :o ;)
