Ebony points & buttsleeve. The two thick points are recut & thinnest is a veneer. I've personally never seen Tim do recuts but I'm sure there is more cues out there with this motif. Cue is in excellent cond. Specs:
2 shafts w/ivory ferrules @4.1 oz 12.6mm & 12.95mm.both have that beautiful patina.
weight is 19.2 w/ either shaft. Cue is straight.nicely executed soft leather wrap.
SOLD Tim 919 247 3391

Pretty nice Scruggs hoppe here. Anyone who wants one of the best playing cues on the planet should seriously consider a Scruggs cue. My player is like this one with different colored veneers and a lizard wrap. Mine plays awesome it's not for sale. glws

any reasonable trade offers? really cool old school cue from a master cuemaker.

Is this authentic Scruggs? I am very hesitant to buy Scruggs cues now days, way too many fake TS out there. Is this a full splice?

yes its an authentic scruggs. not sure about the full splice question.

Forgive my ignorance but what does it mean to re-cut the points. I enjoy looking at these sticks. Someday I'm gonna have one.

Solid wood was laid into the point channel, then another point channel was cut out, leaving some of that wood behind.

Under close inspection of a recut point, you will not see any wood mitered in as you would a veneer.

Safe to say it is not a full splice.

BTW how many fake TS cues have you seen for sale?

If it is not too much trouble, do you mind posting a link to the fake TS's? I know about the one that was in the gallery.

thanks tony for the info on recuts. bob runde is doing a lot of recuts recently. i understand its considerably more labor intensive than veneers.
