Okay, I obviously can't have a new cue built by Tim Scruggs. I wish I could. I'd have lots more made buy him...love his cues SO much.

So here is my question.... What cue maker do you think builds a cue similar in playing style to a Tim Scruggs? I prefer the 5-16/14 pin, but have no problem with the others as well. I'm looking for a cue maker that can build a monster that's a collectible piece of art as well as an everyday player.

Anybody have any opinions on who I should approach with my order/orders!?? Preferably not someone with a 10 year wait time either.

You Know The Old Expression About Opinions.......

When it comes to Scruggs cues, the most knowledgeable person I know is Nick Serdula on the Forum and you can PM him for advice. Bob Farr is also a very knowledgebale source for Scruggs comparisons........my choice for a comparable playing cue would be a cue made by Cory Barnhart.........he's finished some Tim Scruggs cues that were under production by Mike Corcoran whom was denied opportunity to complete these cues due to his passing. Keep in mind that Tim used different joint pins over the years and so you should give thought to the type of joint pin you'd want and actual cue joint (steel vs ivory).
 
Plus one for Barnhart. I love how his cues play. I also have a plain jane -R- that plays so well I was shocked.

Buy a used Scruggs! You can buy someone else all day long, but if you don't get what you want, you will always have in the back of your mind that you don't have a Scruggs. You will always wonder. And then you'll just be out of whatever amt of money for not getting what you wanted in the first place.

Also, if you can't afford a monster, get a player and you know that it probably even hits better than the eye candy. BTW, if you by a Scruggs in this economy, it will only be worth more in a few years. Other cm'ers, a lesser cm may not be worth as much.

I have a bunch of Scruggs cues already. I really want a new monster cue. I would have gone with a Sly but Leon and I don't see eye to eye anymore....I've already had a handful of his cues too. And his cues (when you order straight from him) aren't that cheap.

Thanks for the Barnhart reference. I really didn't think of that but I've seen what he has "finished" for Mike and Tim and I love it.

Anybody have any contact information for Cory?
