It all depends on what size weight bolt ( 3/8, 7/16. 1/2 and so on), what material the weight bolt is made of and if the weight bolt is all thread or has a head on it. I use 3/8X16 hardened set screws for weight bolts and they way 1oz for every 2.5" which equals .4 oz per inch.

They don't give weight's per inch, you just divided the weight by the length of the bolt, you have to take into account the first inch of the bolt weighs more because of the bolt head :D

oh,,,,well i'm talking about black bolts with no heads. the ones with the hex inserts.

I've got some 3/8-16 steel weight bolts and the 1" one weighs 0.4 oz. They are black allen headed. They are the kind that can piggy-back (no oversized head).

yeah,,them. you can tell i'm a real hardware kinda guy.

LOL!!! Even those of us who use them all the time don't use the right names.

I suppose you can get a decent estimate by checking the weight of the steel Atlas weight bolts in different lengths. Subtract the lengths and weights to get a weight/length ratio (since the subtractions automatically negates the head size). Those bolts are 3/8ths-16.

No head on the set screws.

That's what I was thinking,

Something more like this & I'm wanting a bit more weight.

Corey through me with the over-sized head bit. I've been looking & I've seen some oversize heads!! :)

i might actually need one of those too, for one of my petersons. i'll have to weigh my cue to bring it back up to spec. i stupidly misplaced the original bolt. i'll need a black one though...not a silver one.

Home Depot or a good industrial hardware store carry them if you only need a few.
