looking for a good way to seal my clearcoat in the can.it dries before i can use the entire can,is there a good way to maybe vacuum seal it.it is polyurathane in a quart metal can.thanx

There is an aerosol can with nitrogen, argon, and carbon dioxide in it for that purpose. You slightly lift the cover and give the can of finish a 3 second blast to clear oxygen from the can. It is supposed to keep it from hardening. I don't know who makes it.

Store the can upside down.

I like the above idea best. But as an alternative you can put glass marbles in your finish to keep the can nearly full. Use more finish add more marbles. If the finish is expensive then the cost of the marbles is worth it. Or you could wash them in thinner to clean them before starting to add them to your next can. The food industry sells vacuum system for vacuum sealing mason jars. The down side is if the vacuum ever pulls a drop of your finish into the system it will probably ruin it.
