Here's one of Germany's top junior players and competes in our nationwide premier league. He lost a hill-hill final against Souquet in 10-Ball race to 10 for a 3000 Euros cheque - one to watch!

Sadly he's banned from competition for another half a year or even a year as he was found with cannabis during a doping check at the premierlague matches held at the WTC event.

has the entire world gone crazy? a "doping check" in pool? the prohibitionist Nazi's should be beheaded. i have a fine sword for the cause.

clearly, smoking pot has not hurt this kid one iota but the purveyors of political correctness punish people who do not conform.

BTW: this "kid" has a nice, clean stroke, excellent shot-making and terrific execution. he's going to be a pro soon.

BTW: i enjoyed the vid but it stops at 125 balls... i didn't get the satisfaction of seeing him miss.... ☠

well, as you might know, pool as a sport got recognition from the Olympic Committee. Meaning it is an Olympic sport, yet not included in the Games program. Thus, pool is subject to all requirements set by WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency). You might be surprised to learn that alcohol is considered doping in relation with such sports like shooting and pool (as it helps to stabilize nervous system). So no anabolycs, no weed, no alcohol for a sportsman in pool.

Good points. I agree. If pool is to ever get in as an Olympic sport and it should be without a doubt. There has to be strict doping rules. It is like any other Sport. No dope...... It is totally fair, there is no other argument about it.
 
just what exactly is "doping", mike? what about poppy seeds? recently an american woman had her baby ripped from her arms by gestapo, prohibitionist filth because she ate a bagel with poppy seeds. oops.... the piss police should be hung in the streets. just because you test + for a banned substance doesn't mean that you were 'altered' during competition. it's all BIG-GOV BULLSHIT. and screw the olympic committee Nazis . pool doesn't need them.

what about caffeine? sucking a few strong brews helps my game. :wink:

furthermore; the purveyors of political correctness have been telling us for decades that pot renders us lumps of lard, unable to do anything but giggle. so if pot doesn't enhance our pool game, why test for it? hmmmm?

i believe he is 25 or 26....damn germans, i think they are born with a 100 ball run already under their belt !!!!:D
 
Sebastian is around my age I think - 25 or 26.
I played him once in a 9-Ball tournament with a sudden death round robin format over 12 hours. He's such a great character
He hooked himself on the 3 ball, I ran until I messed up postion on the 7 as the cueball ended up frozen against the headrail. As this is a fun tournament on carnival the room uses all it's tables and 5 of them are too close to the wall for official play.
So I had the choice between jacking up and using my phenolic jumpcue. As I can hardly play with the cue jacked up - especially on table length shots - I decided to roll it with my jumpcue and of course miscued.
He ran out, but congratulated me for my play (I still wonder why, but 3 to 6 were played well) and wished me all the best for the remaining matches

And I play in the lowest league, he plays premier league - he cares about weaker players and respects them - which not everybody does!

And sadly as we're an olympic sport we have to obey all the IOC rules that include the Anti-Doping Code. Being part of the IOC also demands special coaching licences which are expensive. Our sport here struggles because of that as the first licence takes 2 days and costs 350 Euros plus hotel and travel but it's the way the IOC demands us to go.

Sure Sebastian can do what he want and luckily we're not forced to tell the WADA every day where we stay (like cyclists etc) but it was almost certain that there will be drug tests at the WTC as 3 or 4 complete matchdays were held, so all players of all 8 premier league teams where at the very same place. It was bound to happen...

PS: Tomas Enge had his Formula 3000 European Championship (the last step before Formula 1) revoked as he was found having consumed marihuana.
Later on he raced for bad F1 teams and actually paid for driving, now he ended up doing sportscar racing like ALMS.
He had his career destroyed because of smoking weed, he would've gotten a top seat in F1 if he'd kept his F3000 title...
