HIya,

just wanted to post that today its the national 14-1 state championship qualifications in Belgium. :p probably of no big deal at all for most readers, but very important one for me.

i didnt qualify on the national 14-1 championship last month, even if i had some nice wins vs top16 players of my country, and i had 20+ breaks in every match i didnt make it into the last32 after 2 tries.

Today its the state championship qualification. Best 8 players will play for the title on wensday.

My game has been strugling more and more over the past 6 months and hit a low last week. i had no idea what was going on, and i couldnt find anything wrong when taping myself. i checked everything from A to Z and it was identical to before.

After shooting straightpool with my eyes closed, i run a 30 break, it made me think and I made a post on the mainforum and found the problem. my eye dominance has shifted !! i spend 60 hours this week on training it and getting used to the new adaptations, played a tournament yesterday and lost vs two top16 players again (damn draw), but its coming back. i just lacked confidence yesterday. when i came home i played another 6 hours and i was back and better then before. :D running 20's again. played a 160 in total offence! my old record was 115 !!

so i really hope the stress wont make me forget the adjustments for the new aiming, and i hope i can make it into the last 8 !!

fingers crossed!!

wish me good luck. I'll need it.

note to myself:
- neat in, neat out.
- dont forget a second breakball
- take your time to read the table!

im READY!! RACK&EM !!!

Good Luck to you.

20s are good enough if you are consistent. 20 something and a good safe.

good job meign :D 30 with eyes closed is cool. I like shooting eyes closed, it works well for training your stroke and figuring out flaws. I struggle to pass 30 and I bet you've hit 50. 50's a threat vs. anyone, I don't care who they are.

lol creedo , i aint running a 50 yet. im stuck at 2 racks constantly. ive run 3racks once on a 8tables, but never on a tight pocket 9ft'er. I always mess up the breakshot for the 3th rack to start. i should be getting to 3 racks any time soon on a tight table, but my home table just hasnt enough space to run bug runs. ive got to use the small sticks and jack up way to often.

The 30 (29 actually) i run, was with a wide open table, i just throw the balls all over the table, run the first easy 14, and then run a second rack and then went home all angry for losing the easyest match i ever had.

anyway, the first 8 pass to the final, and i finished 9th :D
Good news: i had a GREATH time, confidence was back, and i was back on my older level, i'd say even better.

won the first matches easy, running 10's + safetys in the first, running 20's and safety's in the second, untill i got to the qualification game. there i met probably the favorit to win the titel. man i LOVED that game. I broke and got lucky. cb ended in the jaws of the corner and he was snookered  , he tried to play a safe butt left a ball sticking out. cleared the rack, but missed a long shot (those corners pockets in that place are know ALL over the corner. they are UN forgivable.) he then run a rack and missed in the same corner. i run another rack and scratched on a draw shot, and he then run a unfinished 3pack on me. game over 30-60 something. who cares i lost, ive got my game back, thats WAY better then any victory !! :p

on the losers side, my stamina was over (or i think i forgot to concentrate on the changes... chances are i was playing . played a better player and lost fair and square. after the national finals qualification on saterday (12hours ofpool), second try sunday (12 hours of pool), 9 hours work on monday and then playing till 1am to get into the last 8 was just overkill :) not yet used to needing that much stamina.

ah well :) i had fun :p sorry if this was boring to read :D

You will be a lion next year!

Bruno,
Congratulations on your tournament efforts. You have come a very long way in a short period of time. Think of how much further along you will be this time next year.
Have you thought about getting some 14-1 instruction from someone in the Benelux/Germany region? Something to consider...
My best to you, Denny and Katia.
ruk

PS This was not a boring read

hiya ruk !!!

thanks for the coments.
yes i think i cant be naggin about my game. it had been going forward for the first 2 years but since the last 4 months it went DOWNHILL fast. now i got the problem solved, i can enjoy my game again.
Finished 3th in the finals 2 weeks ago in the tournament we went, finished second in the same tournament this weekend. running racks again. Lost vs the current #1 of the tournament 47-50 last week, 45-50 the week before. so i'm getting there :D

the 14-1 instructions are hard. i'm not willing to spend much $ on this (YET). i still have enough homework, bookds, drills to keep me busy for a year or two. as soon as i see that my game isnt improving much anymore, ill start do some training with the top guys of my country and get some help from them (there are players running 100's,150's and 190's but they are charging 2000 euro's !!!! ), I prefere to train a bit more untill its the perfect time to get some help, and then look for players would do it for free, and just train with me. i'm sure i might learn them a trick or two too, so its a give-win situation. but right now im no way near yet a level good enough to even ask them to train together :p last time i did that i lost 40-5 in 9-ball.

i know enough things that i need to improve on, and i have the drills to learn them.

Denys is doing greath ! he played his second tournament and won 2 matches !!! i'm giving him a joss cue for christmas (but dont tell him :D) and ill be training him. he is hooked!! all it took was one tournament hehe

Katya is also doing greath !! ill tell her you said hi.

greats and thanks for the international lookandmeet. FINALY i met a AZ'er :D
