The below center hit is not at the "bottom" of the ball, it is below the imaginary centerline you create depending on the degree of elevation.
Think of it like this, if you have elevated 20-30 deg to shoot the shot, the imaginary centerline of the cueball moves up into the same plane as the angle of the cuestick. You will have to follow through because you are pinching the ball between the tip and the cloth, (like a curve or a masse).
Also on this shot, or any other elevated shot, your upperbody changes angle also. You are still using the same mechanics (stroke arm etc), but your body/stance has to follow the angle of the cue stick.
