i bored the black linen to accept the coin, 1935 indian head nickel,
leaving a stop so to speak at the back it it, used super glue gel to hold the coin, and turned the O.D. of the black linen to .940 ish
being the scholar that i am :lol: :lol: , LOL, i didnt think that thru very well, because , last time i checked, they dont make drill bits .940"
DUH!!!!!
so, a little yankee ingenuity was in order
i took a 1 inch forstner bit, chucked it up, using my dremel tool mounted in tool post with a reinforced grinding wheel, i ground the bit to .950 and took the cue to my buddies machine shop down the street to use his drill press
the 10/1000ths over, was just barely enough to let the air & excess epoxy escape from under the coin while i pressed in with a c clamp
buckhorn buttcap & joint sleeved over phenolic
bacote butt & forearm
birdseye handle
