BTW....just for clarification... it's a Headstock, not a tailstock. You may get more responses if you change the title

With it being the small bore head stock, I would also call it a steady rest. I have a short version head stock that I use as a steady rest myself.It is a duel bearing steady rest with a pulley on the back. That way, if I want to power the front instead of the back, I just move the motor to the front and can leave the main headstock in it's nicely aligned position.
