New cue, butt played with using a different shaft.. still unplayed and unhit?

Cue refinished, but in mint condition. Should the seller list it as refinished mint? Or is mint, unhit ok?

Unchalked, since when? Since new, since refinished, or if the butt had a predator on it and played with for a few months, still "unplayed"?

Just looking for view points, not a war.

Please feel free to ask your own ?????'s....

To me, unplayed means unplayed, with any shaft, ever.

Last weekend I chalked and played a cue that was 15 years old that had never been played. It was cool.

Unchalked means never chalked, ever.

Mint means as made, not refinished or restored.

Anything else is like a girl saying she's a "technical virgin"....no such thing.

That's how I see it.

Next we can entertain the really vague word..."vintage".

Its like telling the truth, just not the whole truth.Just be
as open and honest as possible and relay all the info you know about
what your selling and there shouldn't be an issue. You don't need a good
memory if your telling the truth.

AZ description-Test hit with a demo shaft, original shafts unchalked
Ebay description-Shafts never played with, unchalked.

Cue Semantics

If "mint" means never played with, then why not just call it "New and unused"

This would seem less confusing and less likely to be miss-interpreted.

I would take mint to mean close to new, but not "new".

Have you ever bought a new car with zero miles on it? If your Grandmother told you to come over and see her NEW Cue and when you got over there it was a 5 person owned Blud did Granny lie? How bout that was the old me, this is the new me. Your Fav cue maker makes a Joint to your specs that he never made before, hits a few balls to make sure he wants it to leave his shop with his name on it, did you buy a used Cue?

#1 If the cue was just test hit with another shaft I would consider it unplayed.

#2 This cue is Mint but not unhit or unplayed.

#3 Un-chalked since new = Unplayed.
Unchalked since refinished may mean Mint, but not Unplayed.
Predator shaft used on butt for a few months means used, but you could call the original unplayed shafts new shafts.
