This one... because there is no travel necessary for me. And I went last year... had a good time!:D

I went to the one at strokers in March. In 2 weekends they are at hammerheads but we have our APA cities tournament in clearwater that same weekend, so if we do not do good in that then I will probably stop up at hammerheads on sunday and watch the final few rounds. I'm not ready to play in it yet but hopefully next year.

The season's ending championship are always a great climax. I was thinking that it might be a little close to the DCC.

I was thinking about donating to one of the tournaments and can't decide which one and why.

Trying to justify going to play in one....

Diamond Billiards

in Cape Coral is a new room that must be seen, I feel. All 9 and 7 foot Diamond tables in a new strip mall. TVs in the restrooms so you don't miss a moment of the big game. Great owners who support the game and a lot of good players. Contact AZ'er biggame here for details.

Hammerheads is the same way... fairly new pool room with all new 9' and 7' diamond tables. They even have a 3 cushion table. I'm pretty sure the owner of Hammerheads plays in the Tour as well.

Hey Joey don't waist your time at Fast Eddies in Goldsboro because the room is so small there will be spectators trying to see over three or more rows of people just to try and get a glimpse. This is unless they have expanded or something since the Carolina Open two years ago, and I'm sure the Fla. pro tour will draw a huge crowd. On the other hand there will be alot of action there as it is all the time.--Leonard

Although I can now snap pencils with my toes and walk on hot coals, I like to give my feet a rest at the tournaments.

Thanks for the heads-up about the space problem. The action is an upside though.

Can't send you any more REP at this time but appreciate the details of your post. This is the kind of information I was seeking. Now about the ones that I should be considering......:)

Doug, did we visit this room? Was this the one where the owner did a lot of his own woodwork?

November 12-16
Steve Mizerak Championship
Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino
Hollywood, FL

1) It has by far the most money added.
2) greatest amt of good players
3) its at the hard rock, which is a nice play with more than just pool going on
4) the setup last year for the tournament was probably the best I have ever seen for a pool tournament that I played in. Granted I got drilled but hey every tournament needs guys donating to the real players.

That's a healthy attitude. Did you go to DCC last year? I think you said hello the year before last but not last year.

Joey,

Hammer Heads is awesome, plus the beach is right near and the local foods are a hit.

Then again HardRock is a casino (even if it is Indian owned it is still a hotel and there is usually a nice buffet there).

With the dates on these two being so far apart, you could donate to both and not sweat it. :D

Does anyone know what the cost was for staying at the Casino Hotel last year for the tournament at HardRock.

The Seminole Tribe does more for pool than ANY other single entity that I know of.

THE SEMINOLE TRIBE ROCKS FOR SENIORS, TOO.

O.B. Osceola was recently talking to Grady about reviving the old Senior Tour and I can't wait to hear what they plan on doing.

No i couldnt go. Work and family commitments.

I also recommend Hollywood bc of its proximity to Hollywood billiards (great room to play in. action!!)
and you also can get a great hotel in Ft Lauderdale/Miami for little $ in November.

I think all of the events would be great to attend! :) In all seriousness though, I hope you can make it to one of our events. Look forward to finally meeting you!

Yes, this is the room we visited when you had that last minute airline layover in Tampa a couple of months ago. This is the tournament that you should attend.... imo

It always get a good turnout and while there are ample good players, there are a sufficient number of lobsters to make it worth your while. You can get action from roomowner Dan Lavoie, AZBers James Roberts, Donnie Mills and a handful of others.

Your friend can come sweat you into the money and watch your back, as usual.

Doug
( remember, I didn't let that Ted Ito shark you with that bag of popcorn move and had Scott Smith put it into a BOWL after I called it to his attention ) :)

*Just don't ask me to help you find a room, where should you eat, do I want to split your expenses, will I drive you around, go get you......ah, anything, etc.,etc., ETC.
Just play pool and let me nod off every now & then, OK ?

The Hard Rock Hollywood looks like a good time to make an appearance...maybe take some vacation time to visit sunny south Florida...room rates look pretty steep...do players get a decent discount?

Joey,

I use www.tripadvisor.com It is just a damn helpful site. Just look it up and they check all of the web rate places at once like orbitz, travelocity, etc... and then you can pick which one you want. There usually seems to be around a 10-15$ difference in them nightly so make sure you check them all.

Joey,
WOW!!! I checked for you, and damn.

here is the bad news:
