Why would they schedule an event of this nature on the same weekend as Super Billiards Expo? Lots of us elderly, nearly blind and crippled players are going East not South. Would have loved to play this event. Maybe next year.

They have a limited field Lyn and plan on having the Super Senior tournament for 70 and over with the same format again in six months.
With so many tournaments going on anymore, especially with most of the senior events on bar boxes, it is impossible to schedule without some overlap.
I might have gone to the US Open One Pocket the following weekend, but would rather go here instead. I am sure we will have a full field and have a great tournament. Hope you have a good time at Expo and maybe see you down the road at one of the tournaments here.
Where do most people stay when they are there?
Rodeway Inn on the same street as Bogies. Not too fancy but close. There are quite a few others in the neighborhood depending on what you are looking for.
I tried calling John Rizzo today at the number on the flyer but he is out until Monday.?

I've looked for an advertisement for the U.S. Open One Pocket Championship but I don't see one.

I talked to him yesterday, he is off this weekend. They need a check for the entry fee to save a spot for you. There are spots open, but they will close it off at 24.
Here is the info so far on the US Open. Mark Griffin said he would post more info later. I believe there is a thread on AZ somewhere.
The 2016 US Open One Pocket will be held at Pool Table Magic (75 Ella Grasso Turnpike) Windsor Locks, CT.
Dates: April 18-21, 2016
limited to 48 players
$5,000 first place (based on full field)
$5,000 added (based on full field)
Entry $350 (including all registration and green fees)
Double Elimination (4 on winners/3 on losers--Final race to 5)
Qualifiers to be announced: contact the host room: Mark Kulungian (markptm@aol.com or call 860-627-8494) - provide a phone number and some pertinent info. This is for both events.

SBE ends on 17th and has a Pro 10-ball and Pro One Pocket. This event starts on the 18th.
Hey Thanks John. I'm really excited about this event.
Mary K will tell you, I'm very interested in recording historical events and the history of the game. There is NO better way to do that than to sit down and visit with the Legends. Mary will be there as will many "old school" pool players and fans.
I'm hoping to get Mary Kenniston, Charlie Brown, Buddy Hall, Red Walley and who knows who else, together to tell some stories. Should be fun.
