serious pool players.....

I understand having hopes & dreams but:

it looks to me like the best thing that could happen is that when jcpoolgod starts a thread no one posts & maybe he will just go away.

That is the way i feel & i won’t apologize for it.

Someone who claims that they have nothing but pool.
No friends, no love blah blah blah, probably lives with a parent or parents & fantasizes about how tough they have it.

Give me a break,

I tried my hand at the professional darts circuit in August 2006 only 6 months after throwing my first dart!!! I pretty much posted the same kind of thread as you on one of the top darts forums, with the exception that I had a very good job and a girlfriend. But I thought I was it, I'd be the next big thing because I got good so quickly etc.

Can you guess how it went? Everybody thought I was an arrogant tool! What happened to me after? So much pressure was caused trying to justify to everyone that I just succumbed to the inner demons and could not play darts any more, as of June 2008. I had a great result on the tour in beating the then PDC World Ranked #6 Andy Jenkins, but one result doesn't make a player.

How does this relate to you? Well let me tell you that you are not the only person in this kind of situation with pool. There are probably one million young adults with no direction in their life across the world, who have exactly the same misguided vision as you.

If you really want to be noticed and have somebody take you under their wing, then get off your butt and go to the closest pool hall open to you now! Not a second later, go now! And also don't come back on here asking for help again. Do your talking on the table. Either someone will take you under their wing if they see potential for you, or you'll be left to dry.

Learn some extra life skills while you can too. You wouldnt believe how hard it is for older folk to get into decent jobs if they've never done anything in their younger days. Before you know it, you'll reach that age and do you really want that regret of wasting your life?

Get off the computer now, play some pool and make money. I wish you all the best of luck!

JCpoolgod, i could never give you better advice than railbird25 or bookcollector did. If your mind is made up and you can beat a old has been like me under pressure, i will stir you around and stake you. You also can't take drugs,or have a ego that gets in the way. I was the first person to take Jimmy Wales on the road at 15yrs old, and he had the biggest ego of anyone i had ever met. He would turn down a spot to play even. Many on here have told you the truth about how tuff the road is. I played for over 20yrs off and on, so, believe me i know. I would go to work many times because it was much easier, and we're talking a pulling unit, and drilling rigs in the oil fields. I would have to meet you somewhere and see how you play. I still stick with the best advice came from the two posters. Billy kuykendall.

Here you go OP beat exoldschoolpro and you are on your way....

Did you write to all the cowboys

i always wanted to be a cowboy when i grew up :rotflmao:

and ask them to take you under thier wing & teach you the cowboy ways?

Sorry, i'm guilty of keeping this thread going,

I can't understand why someone would want to go on the road and try to make it as an unknown ( that is if he isn't the next efren reyes )

why not work on your education and then a good job, and then go and play pool on the weekends? I mean that's how almost all of the "happy" pool players I know do it.

See the bike in my avatar picture, that came from working a decent job and also a decent education.
