Setting Up Videocamera

I want to set up a video camera to record and play back my table at home. I know NOTHING about what to buy, how to mount, how to hook up to my flat screen, etc. I'm looking for advice, tips, equipment options, recommended camera location, etc.....

Just remember that having a nice soft light source is even more important than the quality of the camera. A lot of people overlook this. Even a $5k camera will still look terrible with insufficient lighting.

Nate:

How does something "still terrible" something else? I'd be interested in knowing, for I'd like my opponent to "still terrible" in his seat while I'm shooting, especially if he's of the boisterous type. ;)
