This post reminds me of a situation I encountered a couple of years ago. After agreeing to sell a couple of cues for a specific price, I met a person in Maine ( who said he was a Lawyer) to complete the deal. He started to inspect the cues and began to pick out minor imperfections in the cues, some imagined. His next tactic was to try and reduce the agreed upon price. I refused to lower the price and after going back and forth several times we both left without making a deal.
Some points of interest:
I had the feeling the ?lawyer? was trying to intimidate me into selling the cues at a lower price. I frequently deal with lawyers in my job and have become accustomed to the tactic.
While the condition of the cues was not perfect, this was fully disclosed before meeting. Actually, I tend to describe the condition weighting the negatives to be on the safe side.
I was accused of wasting his time and as a result he would never do a deal with me.
Who gives a s?, I would never do a deal with him either!
Sound familiar?
