shaft diameter you prefer???

Custom taper, 11mm to an 11.5 tip. Everest tip, bout to change it to a Kamui black soft. Love the shaft, unmatched accuracy and lowest deflection of any shaft I have tried. Have to hit it smooth though, if you try to get too violent with it you'll lose action on the ball and accuracy drops considerably.

Wtf?

I'm amazed nobody has pointed out that it's not all about taper and tip.

-you can put shaft "A" with a specific tip and taper on many different Butts and it will play different on all of them.

-It is about weight distribution in the entire stick, your stroke(different cue specs for different strokes), and the proper matching of all of the materials in the stick to the stroke and player and game..

You forgot to mention type of balls used, speed of the cloth, and whether or not there is a full moon:rolleyes:

I also have an I-2 with a 12.75mm diameter and a Moori Soft tip. As you, I like both the I-2 and the I-3. I play a lot more with the I-3. Can't beat the McDermott warranty on the I series shafts. I recently sent 3 shafts in for new Moori tips, cleaning, and re-seal. I only had to pay the postage and handling fee of $21.95 for all three. That's about $7/each. Their svc mgr Jayme is great to work with.

That is good to hear about the warranty info. So rare that a company will stand behind their product like that, AND actually make it a painless process should you have to use the warranty. Now I want my cue even more....thanks.

-I'm just talking about variables with the stick.- of course there are hundreds of variables that affect the game, I just brought up a few that affect the stick. Just trying to give people a different perspective.

-as for rolling your eyes, if you cannot feel the differences in variables in sticks and your game isn't at that level, then you should play with whatever taper and tip you feel is the best and hope it gives you the mental confidence to play well.

I was just funnin' with ya breakshot, I didn't mean to offend you. My poor choice of smiley faces I guess.

yeah!we know its not just the tip and taper to base you play the game.
we're just want to know what do you prefer on the tip used and diameter of the shaft.

I was shooting with a Moori medium and liked it very much after trying a slew of different tips. When I bought my McDermott I-3 shaft, it was equipped with a Moori Soft. I thought about changing it but decided to play with it for a while. I was surprised that there was almost no mushrooming after several months of play. My perception was that I was getting just a little more draw and english with the Moori Soft, but that may or may not be fact - just a feeling. I've been playing with the soft now for about two years. Will probably never change type of tip again - I'm completely satisfied (and yes, I've tried the Kamui's).
I apologize if it appears that I'm hijacking this thread, I don't mean to.

used 12.7-13.5

i went through that phase years ago. my preference is a 13 with about
a 15 inch pro taper . like the hit and feel fo a triangle tip. it all goes back
to what works best for each individual person. and not only that , but to
be able to adjust from a 12.8-13. by no means i am a great player .
if you will notice what makes a great or a pro player is the ability to adjust
from cue to cue, room, and table, and still have game.
take care, john, anderson sc

Need 13 mm . My poor eyes won't work with anything smaller.
