shaft question

I have a Cory Barnhart cue with a radial pin and a 314-2 shaft for a radial pin that I purchased from seyberts. Problem is the shaft only screws on like haft way then gets really tight and cant be turned anymore. Is it possible that threads on new shaft are messed up? or Is that shaft for a different style radial pin? The pin on my cue looks like the pin they show in picture on seyberts website.

Thanks

Anything is possible but I doubt that the threads are damaged.
The shaft has a black phenolic insert, correct?
The Predator factory doesn't make shafts for the import 'radial'.
I also doubt that Cory uses the import radial pin.
Did you buy this shaft from stock or was it custom made?
You can try some wax on the pin and at the entrance to the shaft
and try a few times screwing it together. It should go easier.

I had a similar experience a year or two ago. I had a shaft that was tapped for a Uni-Loc radial pin, and a butt with a Madison Bob radial. The Madison pin had a larger minor diameter than the Uni-Loc, and got very, very tight after about half the threads were joined. I don't know if Cory ever used these pins, but you might check the pin to see if that's the problem.

Thank you sir. The wax trick worked, screwed together perfectly.

The thought had crossed my mind but I wasn't willing to go that far out on the limb without trying the 'easy-fix' first. Thank you for mentioning this.

To the OP - Breezy B,
I'm very glad I was able to help. Since I'm closely linked with Seyberts,
I consider it to be part of the customer service, after the sale.
Enjoy your new shaft.
