Sorry if this has been asked before but i didn't find anything using the search.

I have a small dent in my shaft in the worst place and I was wondering what you guys (and gals) do to get out small dings and dents.

Thanks in advance for the help.....
 
There is a glass tool made by RX Cue Doctor inc. That works wonders, I use it all the time just got a small ding out tonight.

Dents on shaft

Just get a small cloth and wet it a little....then put it on the dent...wet side on dent....then get a lighter and heat up the cloth were the wet is and it will creat steam and will cause the wood to swell and pop the dent out!!!!!!!!! If that dosent work for u just get a glass ash tray and rub it up and down on the dent real fast and that will heat up the wood and pop out dent......if real deep u may have to use the water method several times...! Been doing that fo 40 yrs.......your welcome....the old master!
 
Even easier, just put a wet piece of paper towel over the dent, let it sit for an hour or so then just lightly sand it to even it out then burnish the shaft to seal it and your done... No need for a lighter or anything.

use a wet band aid on the dent.
if you roll glass on the dent it only makes the dent longer so it is not as easy to feel, but the dent will be bigger.

after swelling the dent out sand seal and wax.
