Shaft Straightening?

Hello,
I was wondering if a shaft can be fixed (straightened) if it has warped on its own. I have heard stories of hanging the entire cue from a string by the tip ensuring that it hangs level and the weight of the cue will eventually straighten out the shaft. Is there a better way or just resort to having a new shaft made.

I was also wondering if any of you will be at the Vegas BCA championship May 15 -19. My team and I will be there and possibly up for a new purchase, dependent on how the other gambling happens to go :)

Thanks
Javier

Warped shafts, like any piece of wood, can not be straightened
permanetly. There are some methods to 'bend it back' that will
return to more or less straight for a while.
