shaft wood experts ???

It looks like really good shaftwood you have there. The one on top has some pretty wide grains though. The one in the center, I really cant make out the grain lines at all.

But remember that grain lines are only part of the factor of what makes a good shaft. So even if the top one only has a few gpi it may be the best hitter for all we know. But the color is right. Is it a dense shaft? how much does it weigh?

The bottom two and the thrid one from the top look the best to me. The third one from the top has great color to it. But im guessing the bottom two are the best hitters since they have a lot of play on them ;) But if I had to choose, those three would be my picks.

Some nice quality wood though thats for sure. Better than average for sure.

the ones with the most play on them are shafts for my gilbert. yeah they play really great stiff and responsive. the third from the top is for my queperfect. it would show more play but the finish goes slightly higher on them so you can't see as much of the chalk.

the top shaft is somewhat whippy for me. the one onder (both from the same cue) doesn't play as whippy at all and i like it.
i don't have a scale so i don't know any of the weights. thanks for the responce vicdotcom
