Shane Hennen: any recollections?

Hi all,

I'm a reporter with the New York Times who covers federal courts and criminal justice in New York. I'm currently working on a profile of Shane Hennen, a man who's been charged in a number of sports gambling cases around the country that I've been reporting on and an accomplished pool player who was quite prolific on the youth circuit up through his 20s. I was wondering if any of you have crossed paths with Shane and had any recollections or stories about him — anything interesting that could feature in a profile of him.

Please feel free to PM or email if anything comes to mind — santul dot nerkar @ nytimes dot com is my email.

I beat him 2 sets and he wanted to add another 0 to the bet.

I told him we could double the bet and he passed. He was not open to letting me dangle his own money at him.

Easy come, easy go.

So is the spin going to be that a youth of pool led him to a life of crime?
