Shane is out!!!!! Yu Lung wins 11-8

I will.. if and only if Chang takes it all

Also rooting for Chang :) if not would like Niels to win and if not any of the other 2 underdogs. Any one of the 2 underdogs winning would make this a repeat of Wu 2005 win when a relative unknown win . Hayas win will be big as he is a qualifier LOL
If Chang wins this he would be No 1 ranked and winner of most WPA majors this year (since there are not many many left except for USOpen and All Japan probably )
:)

I like Chang's game a lot. Simple yet effective. He's by no means a "superstar" player in Taiwan despite having been ranked number one in the country several times. Wu actually had a lot of hype in Asia back in 05 already - he was drilling Chao Fong Pang in the Taiwanese league games. The most WTF? win that is recent I'd say is Darryl Peach in 07(?).

Agree about Peach. Same with Huidji See win in W10b
Isn't other Wu , Wu Yu Lun a better player. He won World Junior few times beating Wu ChiaQing. Read that they converted Yu Lun to play snooker instead which is sad cos he would be like Ko and Wu now if he continues playing :)

Wu Yu Lun was one of the top guys during that time as well, but Wu Chia Ching had more potential and firepower in him. They converted him to play snooker for the Asian Games, and I'm not too sure what happened with him after. Unlike Ko and Wu Chia Ching, Wu Yu Lun wasn't trained at an early age through the school's pool programs so maybe it was easier for him to leave the game if he did.

Honestly, the most feared Taiwanese player was Yang in his prime. I don't know if its bullshit or not, but some of the commentators (who happen to socialize with a lot of other pros in the world) says that when asked about strictly offense, almost all the players said Yang had the best offensive game.

For some reason, I always get Mario He and Huiji See mixed up despite their size difference :D.

i envy you that you have a pool program in schools - no wonder you produce top caliber players.
where i come from, we cut classes to go to the pool rooms. :D
