higgins playing ronnie right now, leading 2-1. on the other table selby vs trump.

in other quarter finals later today are brecel vs milkins, neil robertson vs zhengyi.

neil would be my pick for the title. turned around a 5-3 deficit against ding yesterday with some of the straightest shooting i've ever seen

Here is Ronnie's match against Ali Carter. This has been edited down and with additional info added. This channel is well worth a YouTube subscription.

Where are you watching this?? I can't find it. Thanks!
In the US it is on matchroom.live. Unfortunately, that gives no possibility of viewing it except at the time of broadcast.

As mentioned in the comments of the video I linked above, there may be pirated streams on YouTube. Those you will be able to view later until they are taken down for copyright violations. Some of the pirates do very shoddy work. Some of them direct you to sites that will infest your computer.

This is the livestream I used for the Ding/Robertson game, a little clicking around you should be able to find highlights (not sure how or if it works outside of China)

luca and robertson playing their first frame and water is dropping down on the table. robbo isn't happy but they agree to continue the frame. comms saying something about it could be the AC causing this.

show must go on i suppose. the broadcasting and audience dictate it, adapt to the conditions. does seem robbo is more affected by the conditions than luca, and mentally more than physically

Neil was way below his standard in the final three frames. I'd say that Luca was also down some. Brecel wins 10-7.

I've seen rainwater twice in major events so that's what I was suspecting. If the A/C was doing it there must have been a lot of humidity to deal with which would match up with the multiple complaints about conditions.

yep. but as always, there's equality in poor table conditions. should be an interesting final

The commentators made the point that some players adapt better than others. Ronnie is usually unruffled by equipment conditions but he does fret over idiot photographers and clueless fans. Luca seemed to shrug off any problems with the table.

For pool, going on the road gave some players a lot of different experiences. I think one of the reasons Mike Sigel played so well is that he went on the road with Larry Hubbart. Worrying about the air conditioning in a 4-table room in East Peoria in August won't win the cash.

On the other side of that for pool, I think the reason Mike Eufemia might not have done well in tournaments is that his game was tuned to the table he played on every day (and usually ran 200 on).

that may be translatable to luca and neil. luca owns no table, practices in a commercial pool room, neil i believe practices in a private club.
