Shannon Murphy vs. Chris Bartrum

Chris's break was much better this time than the last time they played. They worked changing balls, racks and ends of the table to break from for an hour before they started to play. Chris told Michael that the last time they played on that table the balls wouldn't spot tightly and he wasn't going through that aggravation again. They finally came up with a combination of balls that racked easily. After this, Chris made the wing ball at least seven out of eight breaks and usually had an easy shot on the one in the corner to get started. Chris won the first game and never was in the red. The set got back to even a number of times but Shannon never once had the coin on his side. Chris made a number of lock up safes with no escape and won one game with a three foul. Shannon played a number of safes also but they were very seldom good enough for a ball in hand. Bartram just jumps and kicks so well. They both made some very good shots and I believe that Shannon is probably a better shot maker and really is exciting to watch when he gets loose and let's his stroke out. The bad thing with that though is that you are more likely to make little errors as bobbling a ball in a pocket or over run shapes a little. That wouldn't hurt his game playing you or me but against a good player it can be devastating.
