Sharing an Interesting Shot

I was practicing yesterday and had a few decent runs, but this was the most interesting shot to me so I thought I'd share it here. My cue ball is the yellow (middle).

Possible shots I looked at:

If I would select going short rail, red ball, long rail, short rail for a 4 railer I would hit it firm to possibly make the shot 6 rails if missing the white on the way in; and possibly make the back up if I hit the long rail before the short rail for my 3rd rail (back up). I passed.

The 6 railer off the white is possible but it had to be hit thin and very hard with right spin to go twice around the table accurately. This is above my pay grade lol, and it's kissy. I passed.

The long short angle (for lack of a better description) off the red was a great choice, but I thought hitting the red ball full, especially on the rail generates a lot of speed so the balls may meet in the center of the table possibly kissing out. I passed.

There was even a thought of playing a ticky off the white with a flat high ball, but that is super tough. I passed.

Here's what I chose. You can see how surprised I was that it worked 😂:

This certainly isn't an easy or an obvious solution, but sometimes its the best option! There can often be a large margin of error if the ball is near the corner or a ball off the long rail.

I'd generally look for short-long-short, or a long ticky before this.

I first saw this shot through watching Eddy Leppens in PBA. He played long-short-long-long-long back to the same side of the table as the starting ball.

Dang it, I thought I made it up.
