Sharky's in Annapolis and 8-ball Rat

I had the pleasure of meeting and playing a few racks with 8-ball Rat at Sharky's (formerly Jillians(?)) yesterday. I purchased the "plain ol McDermott" from him, and I have to say that the transaction was more than fair. He's a real nice guy and we had no trouble coming to terms. Now I have a nice back up cue for friends or relatives to use, and I won't have to play with a cuetec when I send my playing cue for service...
I am going to get an I2 shaft for it, so it's almost the same setup as I'm using now. Consistency is important to me, and that goes for my equipment too.

Sharky's is a nice sports bar type place, with 10 or so 9' Gold Crown tables. The table we played had lively rails and fairly new felt. The spot sticker said Simonis on it, but I don't know that that's what was on the table. 8-ball Rat seemed to think it was too heavy to be Simonis.
We played 6 or 7 racks and split them about even. We both have similar experience in the game. He's been palying about a year longer than me.
I have to say he's got a great eye for shot making, and everytime he stood to the table I was worried that I wouldn't get back to the table. Fortunately we were both plagued by the pocket rattles, and I had my chances too.
We didn't keep score of play for anything, but I think he ended up on to by a rack or two.
My only complaint about Sharkies was that the ball set we were given was filthy. A couple of the balls had rings on them like a drink had been spilled in the ball holder and left to dry.
Great evening of pool, and Thanks Rat, I hope we can get together and play again sometime.

I've been to Sharkey's. I think we stopped by there one time on our way home from Bill and Billie's in Arnold. I remember it as being more of a bar than a pool room.

Y'all should have gone to Bill and Billie's. You were only about a 5-minute drive. The tables there are always well-maintenanced! And the emphasis is more on pool than alcohol since it's a non-alcohol establishment!
