OHB has it right I dont believe it would have been what it was for us in the AZ-OP room ,the atmosphere everywhere was so laid back that it was thoroughly enjoyable for the pro's and I think it made "blending in" easier and made them more accessible to us wannabees and hero worshippers alike.

I am not advocating slob wear and the like ,I do believe that you should make yourself "presentable" for television which would only require clean newish jeans or dress pants and a decent button down or polo shirt for your sponsors logos any more than that is unecessary in a tounament of this kind ,we need good publicity I agree ! there is room for the laid back and the uppity tournaments to co -exist isn't there ??

Gregg told me that he himself had donated a little over 10 grand for the cause
thats a lot of money to say bye bye to , and the way I saw him running around this year surely would make his cardiologist have a stroke if he saw what Gregg
was doing .

I respect a man who not only talks the talk but walks the walk also , I know that pool is Gregg's bread and butter but in his case it is his love for the game and the people in it that shines through...

I would imagine the people buying all those dvd buy those kind of shirts too and could care less just as long as the action is good on the table.

1. Lack of a dress code hasn't seemed to hurt poker players much; 2. At the old Stardust tournements in the early 70's, I remember Mataya and Rempe looked like they just stepped out of GQ magazine - it didn't revive pool, it just made it harder to play. A good point was made that there is a distinct difference in the DCC and, say, the IPT; the DCC is an open event with a "throwback" motif, to commemorate the good ol' days before PC police and "genteel" sensitivities. Pays yer money, takes yer chances, and wear whatever the hail ya want.

That guy had to be 6 feet tall and weigh 500 lbs easy and the really amazing thing is that Hustlin had a shirt that was 3 sizes too big on him!!! How many of those can you sell?

All and all, there were more super huge people at the DCC per capita then i have ever seen anywhere. Kid D was not even in the running for also ran status.

There was an article written somewhere about the whole DCC scene last year or the year before. The word 'anarchy' was used often and quite apropos to say the least.

I was actually refering to me, but Jenni Craig is kicking my butt into better shape. :eek: Did I just say that out loud? My fiance is doing it with me, so I don't mind. ;) Plus, I gotta look good for next years DCC. *Dreaming a polo, tucked in* Ah screw it - a black skull and cross bones T-shirt the says "I was Hustled to Death." :D
 
I'm all about comfort when playing, but you have to admit, Jason Miller wearing that over sized white T-shiirt in the banks looked bad, and Gabe's butt hanging out of his shirt/pants in the 9ball! Of course they are champions, I know the feel of the DCC is relaxed, but come on! Wear whatever pants you want, but put on a clean shirt that fits at least.....

Shannan Daulton dressed nicely, maybe being SPONSORED had something to do with it. To be taken seriously, you have to look presentable...IMO

I wasn't able to attend the DCC, but I think it stands alone as the most prestigous tournament out there, period. At least from a player's perspective, as there is no other venue which provides all of the games and action.

Having started as more of the road players' tournament, I wouldn't expect the same level of dress as, say for example, the US Open, but I would expect the players to be and dress cleanly. No T-shirts or torn baggy pants.
