Looking for dovetail beds....Went online. Found a place that sells for 2.50 an inch. Alot of their stuff looks familiar
I made a doweling slide for my table saw, the pillow block bearings i got from ebay were pure crap. I took them to a local machine shop and had them align the bores with the base so they were true to center. They bolted them together and fly cut the bases Now they are sweetPillow block bearings are nice.

Are we building a repair lathe? Definitely not a full length lathe with a big bore headstock,I'd think you can build one with taig parts and some plywood for around 5 hundred. Course, if you aren't into building stuff that would probably not be up your alley.

What size pillow bearing are we looking for? 5/8'' or 3/4''What if I replace the roller with this bearing, insert a plastic collet on the shaft and insert the shaft and collet into this bearing? The bearing has screws that you can use to center and tighten the collet to the shaft.
