shaving a phenolic tip

I put one on a cheap 16oz Action cue with superglue. Wow! what a good break cue it turned into!

Best way to shave down the tip overhang? Its phenolic so a$15 cutter might not work well.

Sandpaper and 20 minutes maybe?

I know I will have night mares if I say this. Specially after watching a girl at a cue shop using a bench grinder to sand a tip on a UTube video. Its one way if you are very careful.

At least to get the bulk of it off so you can sand the rest of the way.

Sanding by hand is the least dangerous. I doubt that a cutting tip of a tip tool will do it for you.

Unless you have a repairman in handy distance, happy sanding and good luck.

BTW, its a safe bet that if you are doing any sanding by the ferrule, to do a wrap of painters tape under the tip.

The cutter will work but don't take a large bite with it... Just take a small layer off at a time almost so thin it's transparent...

Sand paper works but it is such a long task you will likely end up taking material off the ferrule and shaft if you get tired and lose focus......

IF your cutter blade is in good shape you can make a game of seeing how long of a ribbon you can make before you cut thru and have to take another bite......
