Has anyone ever had the pleasure of shipping a cue
Its straight on both ends butt is straight shafts are straight
Put them together they are all straight

Packaged nice in plastic sleeve
Bubble wrap around all
Hard 3in mailer tube
Packing cushion on each end

Cue arrives to buyer
No visible damage externaly
Open it up and then low and behold
The butt end has warped ALOT
Right where the handle and forearm meet you can see a visible warp...so much it almost looks like its broke

Buyer is taken care of
Money is returned
Cue is on its way back to me
Im just in awe still that something like this could happen
Can this amount of warpage happen just due to shipping?
Humidity.....temperature change.....mishandling????

Where are you located. Just a thought. Too much plastic, bubble wrap can trap heat.

No I don't, I think he/she just doesn't like it!

Ya think the buyer might have sabotaged it.

I always want my customers to be honest. I love cues, if you get one I sold and it isn't for you that is fine, send it back. Do not be dishonest though and say the cue is flawed.

What brand of cue? Sure, things can happen. Wood is 'alive' and it's all subject to how the cue was assembled.

Totally agree with you.

Oklahoma to Florida
Cue was 100% fine before it went down
One plastic sleeve to hold butt and two shafts
One full length of bubble wrap...it wasnt over done...just enough to cover everything and barely overlap
Mali cue
He sent me pics and I can see the warp...as stated I couldnt believe it was that BAD
Im hoping the trip does the opposite and makes it back straight LOL

Only thing I wish he would have done was contact me first
He straight went to Paypal and opened a dispute and caused hell for my account
Its fixed now but...it was just extremely inconvenient
Once I got the notification I called him up and asked why
I think he felt like I sent him this cue on purpose like that

You appear to be a honest seller and as so should be given the benefit of the doubt. Please post pics of your findings upon return. We all need to be educated continously.

Too many bad transactions(very few but seems like a lot) gotta strike quick

Finally got the cue back
Package was clearly damaged
Not major but enough of a hit to show damage and easily could have caused this isse
The cue is by no way warped
Its clearly has been cracked to an extent that its has a real nice angle at the forearm and handle
Buyer just wanted his money back quick and is now leaving it up to me to make a claim with USPS

Seems like this happens more with newer cues than older ones. I think for about the first 10 years of its life a cue can't decide if it really wants to be a cue or still be a tree & move.

unless negotiated to the contrary it's the sellers responsibility to deliver the cue in an "as described" condition

I've shipped over 100 cues and never have had a problem...I always use USPS Priority Mail and it takes max 3 days..I never use UPS because it sits in a hot warehouse all day SAT. and Sun.

Sorry to hear. In the future use a rigid tube that a car can drive over. There is no substitute for proper/protective packing. If you ever bought a cue from Seybert's you'll understand and appreciate the packaging used.

Anything can go wrong with any carrier......fact of life.....right?

Having said that, I am a big fan of exclusively shipping by the USPS overnite...24 hrs...next day (not business day) delivery which includes Sundays.

Now I know there are going to be horror stories that can even include this next day delivery coast to coast but the fact is when packages move that fast
through the USPS system, the chances for problems and damages are greatly reduced. The package speeds through every station and handling point
because of the rapid delivery time frame. I have two expensive custom shipping to me this month and I am using USPS next day/24 hrs delivery. It might
turn out I have problems or damage during shipping & I'll come back and report it but I don't anticipate it will be necessary. I have much worst experience
with FED EX and UPS & a perfect record with USPS involving a more than a dozen shipments over the past 4 years.

$hit happens. I never had an issue with things being damaged during shipping......until 2 months ago. I ordered a baby gate for my pellet stove. A hole in the box and a broken corner. I returned it and ordered another one. Same thing happened! It was FedEx delivery as well. All it takes is one person who hates his/her job or wants to see how far he can throw a package to his buddy to ruin a shipment. That said, I'm 38 and it's the first time anything has been damaged enroute to me.
