Whats the best method to ship a one piece cue?

Does the post office or a supply store have a box or carton that will fit something 60"?

Are the Post Offices rates reasonable for an item 60"?

get a piece of 3" pvc pipe, 2" might work also
the post office doesnt like ''round" packages though
so put pipe inside of a box
then it wont roll around or off conveyor belts
i've done it, made a long box out of two smaller boxes
creative packaging at it's finest

i think they charge a little extra for packages over 40"
i cant get on thier website right now to check

carpet tube

Carpet tube from a flooring store is one (other opition)

I just take a hand saw and cut up what i want, but it weighs more than thin wall pvc.

I have never shipped a one piece before.
good luck

I've done one piece cues using the PVC pipe as mentioned before. I usually will tape two of the 'triangle' shipping cartons together and put the PVC pipe inside.

Anytime I ship a cue over $500 value with no case I usually use a piece of PVC, even if it is a 2 piece cue. A few bucks investment sure prevents a lot of headaches in the long run. I usually ship USPS and it seems the Priority Mail triangles aren't near as strong as they used to be, but the FedEx ones are still very hefty if you are going that route.
