An interesting thing about PirateShip is that they use a third party insurer called Shipsurance. I think that means if you insure your package with PirateShip, then there is no insurance on the package as far as USPS or UPS can tell. If that's true, then postal/UPS workers can't target packages with high insurance for theft. Can you confirm whether that's true or not?

I have no idea. I personally avoid insurance myself. All I can say is you save sometimes half, sometimes 1/4, but always something substantial imo. The site is super easy to navigate. The label looks no different to me than if I go to ups or usps directly. Sign up, it’s worth it, even if you only ship one package. Imo.
