i'm surprised more don't have special shoes to play pool with. its amazing that some still just wear what they came in with.

it doesn't take much time to change out your shoes, take out your extra shafts, and put together your break cue, and get your jump cue ready. and take out your special chalk, bring out your own cue ball, get out your moosehead bridge, and start your game.

I wear slippers at home on the LVP flooring and flat sole deck style shoes at the poolhall and no slipping with either

At home in our lower level where my pool room is, I'm barefoot most of the time, even in the winter. I do have infloor heat there though and it's great.

Had the same problem with vinyl plank flooring, tbh. I switched to mostly wearing court sneakers when I go there (volleyball/pickleball/basketball.)

Predator will be releasing their new shoes soon. Supposed to be low deflection, some kind of new technology. Might have carbon fiber in the soles. Comes in different colorways to match your cue, chalk and glove. 40 small payments of $379.

More interested in shoes that give you a firm foundation, that won't slide on various flooring.

Any walk/jog/run sneakers. They might add more height though.

There's not a single reason in the world you can't have both in the same shoe.

Difficult to pick a model or brand for you because everyone's feet and gait are so different but I prefer running shoes myself and have had great luck with both Mizuno and Brooks in terms of checking both boxes you're trying to. My blue Mizuno's are probably the best shoe I've ever owned. A little pricey when compared to others but your feet are pretty damn important not only for pool but just life.

Go to a "Simply Running" type store, the people that work in those places will be helpful.

Skate shoes work perfectly.
Low rise (no heel).
Wide toe box is a plus as well.

Depends on whether I'm wearing boxers or boxer briefs to play.

Boxers = bedroom slippers
Boxer briefs = barefoot

I just chalk the bottom of my shoes so I don't slip. Problem with this is that the pool hall owner wants me to use the same chalk color as the carpet floor.
One time I was playing in a hall with black & whites tiles. Had to shoot cross-legged on half of my shots.
