Shoot a Million Balls? Give me a break.

I don't know what you are talking about.
I quoted, "You compete like you practice."
I don't know where you came up with, "play like you practice"?
The quote I posted is self explanatory.
You can take it of leave it.
Lame semantics dude. The compete is at playing. There are elements of performance that need to be included post flawless execution - flow and tempo come to mind but that's moot in a sports encounter.Jocks are on some lame corporate model of just keep picking yourself up and keep trying.

Does anyone remember Barbara Billingsley, the actor who played June Cleaver on Leave It to Beaver as the Beve's mother? She played the "Jive Lady" in the 1980 movie Airplane who says, "Oh, stewardess, I speak jive!" I laughed my ass off back then when I first saw that scene. Anyway, is there anyone on this forum who can translate these jive talking straightline dude's posts? Break 'em down for us. Please.

Probably why you need long lists that don't address the issue.

A company went to japan to arrange a partnership with a japanese company. After almost a week of intense negotiations the American delegate thought real headway was being made. As he put away the paperwork at the end of the day he said he felt that they were thinking on parallel lines now.

The next day the japanese was right back where he had opened the negotiations. The American said I thought you agreed we were thinking along parallel lines. His counterpart said that is right, parallel lines never meet.
