Yes, 113 people in 9-ball; seems crazy, but I guess they're used to those types of turnouts there.
My streak of crappy first-round draws in big tournaments remains unbroken. This time I got Matlock in the first round.
I was leading throughout the entire match, 7-5 and breaking at one point, but came up dry the last 3-4 breaks in a row. Needless to say, you CANNOT do that against Matlock. He got to the hill first, broke and made the wing ball, but then had to push out to a long straight in. I somehow ran that rack, despite having to bank my way out of trouble, and just generally being out of line the whole way. True to form, though, I broke dry in the hill-hill game and left a roadmap. Good night Irene. 
Chuck and Jesse are looking strong as usual, but so are Gabe and a few others. It should be an interesting Sunday. If I can figure out how to make a damn ball on the break I might be around to see it.
