What is the most desirable exotic wood cue makers seek for "butt","handle", or "forearm" applications? Is the supply of spalted wood limited?

Brazilian rose wood. The good stuff is unavailable and illegal to be imported. What is available is stump wood and considerably inferior to the good stuff. The good ( taken from older furniture or someone sitting an a board or 2 for 30 or 40 years)stuff that may be available will be quite expensive.
