I think every reply caught some part of the issue. One thing, it is important to realize part of the issue is chemical. A bunch of chemical or hormone, whatever, gets dumped into your brain. You are celebrating victory too early, next in the normal progression comes restore and rebuild not back into the fire.
Those that say take the good like the bad are correct, we need to move past this as fast as possible. We do need to realize that the issue is not entirely mental though, we are moving through a real chemical imbalance in our brain if we have to get back into the fray too fast, like having a shot clock or being in the middle of a run.
The breathing advice is great. Breathing is how I adjust my emotional temperature. A physical cue to move on is good too. I think we all know Efren used to rub or scratch the back of his head when he made a mistake or things did not go as expected. Then he moves on. I tried that and people asked if I had noticed how thin my hair was getting in the back of my head! No more physical cue but I do talk to myself mentally after something unexpected, good or bad.
We can set "triggers" to help get past highs or lows that are getting inside our head. If the end of the process is sinking the money ball then all other shots are just steps along the path to the finish.
Unlike a bad outcome where we usually sit down and regroup, an unexpectedly good outcome leaves us less time to regroup. Work on that breathing while chalking is one possibility. Using the chalking as a trigger to move on is another possibility. Whatever is your key. Maybe take that extra few seconds to go get a swallow of water.
