Should I get a Viking cue, or something else?

Decision

Hey everyone and thanks a lot for all your recommendations and comments. I have finally made a decision and I ordered Poison AR1(The second generation Arsenic) along with a Poison case and a bunch of other stuff. The cue was only 220$ and in total it cost 440$ including shipping. Expect a review on the cue ;)!

For $350 you can get an older "window" Viking and they are built like a Tank.
Or, as stated earlier, buy a Jacoby and it will serve you well for a lifetime.

you want a cue for a long time, get a color that is neutral, nothing bright.

you can get bored by loud colors.

viking went out of business once already, I never had one but im sure for 350

you can get better quality, im partial to proven companies with reputations,

and viking might have been one but not since they went out of business.

plus you can get a custom for 350 from someone that knoes how to treat

wood so it wont warp on you.

doesn't really matter what you get, just make sure it wont warp 2 months after you buy it

I hate it when people jump in with an answer without bothering to read the thread.

Congratulations on the new Poison cue.

Viking cues..

I definitely can't recommend a Viking to anyone.. In the $300-$400 range There are some great cues that are available. I would check out the OB, Lucasi Hybrid, and the new LD Tiger X cues cues.. But it's ultimately whatever YOU like. If your not wanting a "Low deflection" cue and just want a "standard" shaft I recommend Schon, Joss, and Pechauer Pro series over Viking. My opinion is solely based on my experiences regarding quality and playability over the past 20 years.
