Should I have bought it?

A first generation Predator 314 with a busted up ferrule and worn down tip. Oh and a silver ring that doesn't match my butt. 75 dollars was the offer. I obviously didn't buy it but I sort of regret it considering the fact that I've been waiting for a LONG time to buy a Predator shaft but just haven't had the extra money.

it sounds like fixing it and matching it to your cue would eventually cost you like a new one....

check out the different on-line dealers like Seybert's and J&J and the rest, they offer good deals on first generation Predator shafts.

I personally dot dig Predator shafts, and Willie hoppie played real well without one.

Very well indeed, but there is something to be said about technological advances.

Heck, what golf course hasn?t had to be redesigned to keep up with all that hoopla. And yet the old horses of the day played very well with what they had and yet change inevitably came.
That being said, I use the stock maple shafts as well. Even when I had a predator I kept changing out back to the original.

I think you made the correct decision.

If you need any Predator shafts, I would go directly to www.platinumbilliards.com - Shane Sinnott is a great guy to deal with. Shane has a lot knowledge of the Predator products because he used to work for them.

He has the new generation Predator shafts (which are awesome BTW) - and they are all 15-20% off -

That's pretty damn awesome!

I believe that if Predator was around Hoppe days, he and all the other greats of the sport would have used it....

Please explain to me all you "solid, perfect hit" lovers, why on earth are you using a two piece cue? after all, a one piece cue will feel much better.... why only except progress in cue making that originated before 1980?
If CNC was available during the Burton Spain and Gus Szamboti days, they would have used it... and if the they had the tool to research squirt then they would have come up with the Predator shaft them selves...

I use a two piece cue because a one piece cue doesn't fit in my trunk.

That was a rhetorical question....

Obviously, the reason for a two piece cue is comfort and ease of carrying the cue.
Well, it's easier to use spin with a low deflection shaft. Can you play without it? Yes you can!! BUT you can also get a bigger car for your one piece cue....

Most people on here would have bought a car with a bigger trunk.

Something else will come along. Maybe you should try and put a post in the wanted/for sale section and see if someone has a Predator shaft that is in your budget and matches your cue. What kind of pin do you have?
