Should I switch up??

Great forum fellow billiards freeks and geeks. I've taken a 15 year break from pool and back into in over the last year. My Meucci is 20yrs old and I paid $200 for it. Should I marry a red, black dot or predator to this butt end. And, how long of a learning curve do you think it will be. I went from a 4 to a six in one season if that helps.
