(This may have been suggested above.)

What the forums really need is a "hide this thread" feature. That way I could permanently turn off both the Des Moines thread and the "Funny Pictures" thread, neither of which I have any interest in any more. One of them has become very repetitive while the other is redundant.

Agreed. Enough is enough and too much is plenty.:)

Ladies and gentlemen, we have ourselves a winner. This is the only thing that will work for everyone. Someone start writing the software. And while we're at it, someone write new software for a new search function.

Well i would have to disagree.
It would do nothing to consolidating all the info into one spot to make it easier to access.

But as they've said, the CTE people don't want it all in one spot. They want it all over the place, and they want to scramble and dig for it like a one-legged can trying to bury turds on a frozen pond. On the other hand, those opposed to CTE posts could simply hide them from being shown when they log in. It's the best of both worlds. Problem solved. Next caller please.

But i am sure that lots of people would like it in one spot.
Just like earlier today, in the Cowboy Jimmy Moore thread, i posted some videos from a J.M. match, where they had an OVERHEAD camera. So i basically took all the overhead shots they had of J.M. stroking and linked them to show that there was no pivot that i noticed.

Spidey looked at the first shot and said that J.M. was jacked up (which is true) and that no one pivots on that. (Although, no one else, including Spidey, has commented on the other overhead shots i referred to)

But anyway, the point is, i never knew that you don't use CTE/pivot on jacked up shots.
Now i do.

If the info was all in one spot, a tidbit of info like that would be easier to find then having to search though the entire site.

In the meantime, it's easy to use Google to search this site (or any other, for that matter). Just add site:forums.azbilliards.com to your regular Google search, and it will only show results across the forums.

Here's a sample search for 9BallMarksman in all AZ forums as you would type it into Google:

9ballmarksman site:forums.azbilliards.com

To make it even easier, learn how to create 'quick searches' in whatever browser you're using. In Firefox, you just create a bookmark and assign it a keyword shortcut.

Mine is setup to use az to search the forums. I just type az <search terms> into the address bar, hit enter and I get a list of results without going through the Google page or having to type site:forums.azbilliards.com with my search every time.

My actual bookmark string is this, where %s gets replaced with the search terms automagically by the browser:

http://www.google.com/search?num=100&q=%s site:forums.azbilliards.com

If you copy that into a bookmark in Firefox (or the equivalent quick search location in other browsers) and set az as the keyword, you too can search the forums directly from the address bar, which is much easier than any custom interface they might create. (Warning: the forum software doesn't show the complete text, but you can right-click and copy the link location to get the whole line.)

You've got some greenies on the way for this, friend!

I am also growing *more curious* as the days go by. I really think the powers that be should look into the possibility of a "hide thread" function. As long as someone would have access to a list of threads they are ignoring (much in the way they can look at which they are subscribing to) then I can't see a single negative aspect of it.

When will this voting be completed?

Curiouser and curiouser

It's starting to happen again.

Just like it always does.
With the same exact arguments from the same exact people.

I still say that all that info should be in one convenient spot, for better or for worse.
It would probably stop the redundancy.
