Thanks Nick, called him, talked to him, but the price point was too steep for me.......... good to hear his voice though, hadn't talked to him in many years.....

How much are you looking to put out for one ?

Cues are a buyers market, and from all my past experiences, why would anyone in the world tell someone how much they are willing to spend, when they know that bargaining will ultimately come into play.

Scenario:

Guy Looking For Cue: I would like a cue, I am willing to spend 1,000.00

Guy Selling A Cue: Hmmm, I have a cue that I will sell for 1,000.00

Whats wrong with this picture?

$400 was posted in another thread, I think.

Yes, 400.00 was in another thread, but this thread is not a $400.00 thread. So anyone who is looking to sell a cue, should list it..........

I like to have choices and I like to get just as good of a deal as the next guy.

I did only have $400.00 to spend but I know have more, and would still like to see all my choices.

Nothing....

I guess not if you are the cue seller....

Not really meaning to argue, but you think that I should say, hey I am willing to spend $1,000 on a cue, and trust that someone who might have sold their cue to me for $700.00 but now knowing that I am willing to spend $1,000 wouldn't be tempted to try and sell it for $850.00 or more?

Come on, I was not born yesterday.

As I said before, this is a buyers market, not a sellers market.

I am sure there are plenty of honest people on this forum, but I am even more sure that there are lots of dishonest people on this forum.... no offence meant to you for sure.

But, it is 100% unwise to tell someone what you will spend, especially when it comes to the cue market, in my opinion....

Anyone who wants to argue with me about that, is not being very honest either....

If you want a Rick Howard cue you should understand the value of his cues first. If you have $1,000 to spend and someone offers you what you believe to be a $750 cue for your $1,000, you should then offer them $750 dollars.

If you want a $1,000 Rick Howard you should state what you want up front... 6 points with veneers, ivory joint, 2 full 13mm shafts, in excellent condition, etc.

Look at Lawman's Tasc... he offered it here for $3,400 (or less) and now it is up to $3,550 on Ebay with 4 days left. So it is not as much of a buyers market as one would think... especially for a desired cue.

If I remember correctly, there is an old saying that a cue is worth as much as someone is willing to spend on it.....

That means that cues are a buyers market, regardless of real or percieved value....

So, if you have a cue, post it and the price, if not...........

I would say nobody posting a cue for sale in your thread says it all... good luck with your search...

We don't knock "seller's" action and people shouldn't be knocking "want-to-buy's" action either. This man wanted a Rick Howard cue, not advise on how he should negotiate.

Here's what I believe Pletho is looking for but unfortunatly this one isn't for sale . If it was it would be a LOT more than $1000.00

Nice, that so far, in my opinion is the best looking Rick Howard design I have ever seen, and I have seem many.....

I know that after you spend around $300.00 on a custom cue, you are usually paying for looks verses playability.

Not being a collector of cues, I still would love to have your cue for sure....

It's a beauty.....
