At what point in time was the term Merry Widow redefined?

My everyday players nothing but merry windows!

I know the wrapless Jacoby isn't a merry window but it is deserving of its place in this picture.

1st cue: wrapless Jacoby one of his earliest jump/breaks 1998 all tiger maple

2nd cue: 1990's stained Birdseye merry window schon with 3 sets of silver railroad rings (backup cue that's doesn't get used)

3rd cue: 2003 custom merry window Jacoby Birdseye forarm with cocobolo and silver rings at all places and a cocobolo joint with cocobolo shaft coller (my main and only player!)

I don't consider it a widow.I thought a widow is 1 kind of wood w/no points .And a cue with points and NO veneers is a 'plain jane'.
