Not to many people invest much into rebuilding those tables, they were built pretty cheap. Personally, if I take one in on a trade-in against a rebuilt GC, I save the slates and corner castings, then throw the rest in the dump.

No matter how many times your mommy tells you Santa Claus is real....that don't make it the truth, so I gather lying to someone is better than telling someone the truth....and MY opinion speaks for everyone....right, or am I not entitled to my opinion....unless you agree with it first!
Me personally, I would acknowledge the purchase of a new car but I dont think I would tell them its a nice car.
When my kids were very young the couple that babysat for them bought a new Cavalier. It had a manual trans, no A/C or any other power options for that matter, AM radio, and rubber floor instead of carpeting. The only feature the car had was electric start. I acknowledged their purchase of the new car but I did not tell them it was a nice car, I dont think a taxi driver would have considered buying it after it was a couple years old. In fact, 5-6 years later when they tried to sell it then tried to trade it in, nobody even wanted the car. Im not trying to compare it to anything, just sayin is all.

Nobody's questioning his knowledge of tables, just his attitude towards fellow members.
He could have worded it much better but no he wanted to be a smart aleck and put the man's purchase down.
He could have just PM him and explain it to the guy like a decent person would have.

Look, here's the deal. Brunswick built the Medalist table as a cheaper alternative to the GC tables so they had another table to sell to the public, plain and simple. They, like every one of the table manufacturers out there know...if it looks like a pool table....someone's going to buy it, the key is cost. So, lag bolts that hold the rail skirts on, instead of machine bolts threaded into inserts....still works. 1"×6" timber to build the frame with....still works because it's a lot cheaper than the timber needed to build a GC frame. Adjustable leg levelers...who needs those when it's cheaper to just pile up a stack of shims under the pedestals to level the frame....right
it's great that the corner pockets screw in to mount them, but the side pockets still have to be nailed in because there's no side pocket castings. Little blocks of wood to run the slate screws into to mount the slates....great, as log as they're not split already. Yeah, I should've just sugar coated the table
There's far to many of these around that are a much better investment than a Medalist.
It would be totally different if the OP asked for anyone's opinions on the table he was about to purchase. He just asked for pictures. If you don't have any pictures to post the polite thing to do would be to keep your mouth shut and move along.
