Showcase billiards question

hi i was wondering if any one had any opinions on showcase billiards pool cues. i saw one i really liked but i was hoping to get some opinions before i bought one. any thoughts
 
I have two... but they are both at least 20 years old. I love the sneaky-Pete that I have. Very solid hit and a well-made cue.

If the price is right, take it home.
 
i think i'm gonna jump on it when my tax return gets here, that's for the reply looks like yours is the first and only i'm gonna get

The current Showcase cues are very well made. You cant beat there playability. Clays beeen at it a ling time and likes to stay on top of the tech side as well as understanding the basics of good cue making.
 
I have only hit with 2 of the showcase sneakys. Both were good. Good feel, a lot of value for the money. I don't know why I don't have one myself. As the poster above said, they have been in business a while. I remember going there about 20 years ago now. Oooh, that makes me feel old. I don't live there anymore and don't stay on top of what they are doing cue-wise. A friend of mine then had a really good showcase sneaky. It was a plain sneaky but the wood was good, seemed a cut above the normal. Hit good, got abuse and took it. A year or two ago I got to hit with another from a more recent era. Another good one. I bought a few cues there, probably should have bought one of the sneakys instead. Or just kept a couple of the ones I bought. I miss the helmstetter carom cue I bought there.
 
i had one but sold it for the single fact that i could not make a ball with it. quality craftsmanship, good materials, excellent looking cues, i loved them when i saw them on their website, called mike and described what i wanted, he was very helpful. i got exactly what i asked for, except for the hit. i didnt know they had a stiff hit, when i got it i tried to adjust my game to the hit of the cue, but couldnt.. sold it for more than i paid for it in europe..
so my suggestion is, shoot with one if you can. then order.
 
About a month after I got my Showcase (I have 2, and the jump/break), my game had jumped almost a whole ball. The Tru-Hit shaft is amazing. Near zero deflection, and a sweet hit. Highly recommended.
 
I bought a new Etheridge hustler with ivory ferrule in about '87. I liked it a lot. I had a Meucci hustler at the same time and they hit pretty similar, maybe not quite as much bite on the ball as the Meucci but I used Le Pros and no two of those tips were ever the same. Seemed about an octave higher pitched hit than my McDermott C series (the only cue of that era I still have). I expect Clay still makes a fine cue though.

Seemed a lot of the 80's cues were pretty "whippy". Deflection wasn't talked about much back then. My Etheridge was considerably stiffer than the McDermott though.
