It has come to a showdown between Barry B and The ABP
I can see both sides very clear, on Barry’s side he has precedent and history, yes…..he has paid everyone or we would have heard from them by now, yes……he had some troubles in the past but clear them later on.
He has the longest running 9 ball tournament, how many can lay a claim to that or similar to that?!!!!! That is a very strong deck of cards in a game.
The ABP has a solid point, they want to have the same demands that anybody that works would want, because that is their job………..however the door that is being open would suggest that they will want the same assurance from all the tournaments that they would play around the world……I don’t think they carry that much clout, because if they did the sponsors would have been there as they are for NBA, Golf, and now even for UFC
Therefore the showdown is needed; I believe that Barry B will do well on more ways than anticipated because the lack of lustrous players will invite more common players to take a chance for the US OPEN 9 BALL CHAMPIOSHIP, witch by the way is an honor possessed by few
On the other hand the ABP players will deal with reality when they may run into some resistance on part of the promoters around the next venue, I don’t see players adding money to their own tournaments, that just don’t make sense….is always somebody else adding the money, the amateur will close the doors to the pros when they have enough players to fill their sheets.
Please don’t get this wrong, but I think this is needed to establish the chain of command, where a person running the tournament sometimes does not know ahead of time if he will make any monies from it!!!!! Because pool players that are not pros, wait till the last minute to attend or come when the draw is completed, or nags because there is not enough money added to cover their needs.
I have been a steel worker true my life and always had enough money for my family, but don’t shoot as well as I would like to, perhaps if I had more green time had made a difference, but it was my choice!!!
Just as it is now for the pro players, is their choice
For Mr. Barry B……don’t let this get in the way of the US 9 Ball Open, my prayers are with you
For Mr. J Archer and ABP players, do as you need to do to insure the well being of the sport and your job, perhaps there is still time to work around for alls benefit…my prayers are also with you all
