Friday night was rockin' with action on the 9ft with some Texas Boys and numerous others. There was action from $2.00 a game to-1000.00 sets. The Mini tournament, which was $20 entry race to 7 single elim., ending up with Bob Stuart and Steve Rector splitting it at about 2am. for 200ea.

There are numerous top players already here including Gary Aboud,Roger Allen,Erman Bullard,Mark Garza,Robert Clark and numerous others. This is gonna be one heaven of an event.

Brett (the owner and TD) and his wife Debbie are some really fun loving people! It looks like it will be a cool event.

I'll post more results later.

Dewey "the hillbilly" from Shangaloo,La Area vs Chris "fishhook" Brown (we are definetely in LA):D

Herman Quarles vs Robert Clark
Karl "Snag" Smith vs Chuck Whitt
Erman Bullard vs "Latch" ( a local player, last name unknown)

The day finished out with lots of action:

$25 races to 5
$200 races to 7
$400 races to 7

2 ahead sets for $200
races to 9 for a dime

plus plenty of one hole action on the 9 ft.

Hey, thanks for posting up the happenings, Big Truck! Looks like everybody is having a good time! :)

I love those nicknames: Fishhook, Snag, and Lack. :D

I am looking forward to hearing some more, so I will be staying tuned to this thread. :p

Thanks for the thought, however I was simply a reporting player. I'm sure Brett would appreciate you spreading the word. I do however put on a mid-level event in Waco,TX which is also advertised here.$50 entry w/auction. No pros or anyone who has had a 5-6th or better finish in a major tour or tournament.

I also would recommend the Fast Eddies 9 Ball tour. It is open to all and Lewis & Paul run one of the best tourneys I've been to.

Well the final sixteen went pretty much the way it was picked :

1st Place - Steve Rector
2nd Place - Jui Lung Chen
3rd - Bobby Johnson
4th - Karl "Snag" Smith
5-6th - Karl Mclendon/Chris "Fish Hook" Brown
7-8 - Robert Clark/Erman Bullard

This was my first trip to Shreveport for the Sidepocket event and I really had a good time! Brett & Debbie are some great people who make you feel right at home. The staff was also great! They smoked burgers,dogs and chicken and had some excellent coffee too! (good thing for me:) ) I'll definetely be penciling in Shreveport again. Maybe next time I can draw a bracket more my speed.;)
