Sidepocket in Austin closing

They stopped doing the Tues tournaments awhile ago. For a short time we had 32+ players and 2,3 break contests at up to $500 each. I hit one for $430. But after time, the interest just faded. I remember when they had the upstairs. I didn't really play on the coin-ops much. I've always played on the 9 foots in the front. (Gold Crowns and Olhausen now) But I would go back there and play the video games. Chuck is still the manager, for now. I also remember when they had the blue bar that was next to the front door. Ive been told that when it first open it was just the first bay and over time they would add on. Phil just let me know if and when your are coming and maybe we can setup a time to meet. Maybe even bang'em around some.

Are they still doing the Tues Tourney? I am wanting to get by there and look around some..maybe even play some too before the place is changed forever. Rough playing conditions or not lol:smile:

Also any of ya'll remember when the place was much bigger and went up stairs on the north side of the building into the video game/foosball area? Seems like they used to have a few Bar Boxes right there by the steps too.

I never really played there but it really does suck.... a lot of great players came through there.

And btw, Austin has a ton of talent...it suprises me that there isn't more tournament action here. If you are looking for cash games head to Houston but as far as playing the best in Texas, believe that the top players in Austin can hang with the best in any other Texas city IMO.
